So far this season, Manchester City has not lost in the Premier League.

So far this season, City has played six games and won four, drawn two, and lost six. They have scored 14 goals and given up six.

Not long ago, the Blues played Newcastle United and tied 1-1 at St. James’ Park in the league. On Tuesday night, they beat Slovan Bratislava 4-0 in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s team is back in league play this Saturday when they host Fulham at the Etihad Stadium for their first league match of the season.

One City player who played very well last week should stay in the starting lineup for this game against the Cottagers.

Pep Guardiola’s team is back in league play this Saturday when they host Fulham at the Etihad Stadium for their first league match of the season.

One City player who played very well last week should stay in the starting lineup for this game against the Cottagers.

John Stones is a player who didn’t start against Newcastle but did against Bratislava.

The defender who makes £250,000 a week made his third start of the season across all competitions. He had only played in five games before this.

Having played all 90 minutes against Bratislava, the English player proved why he should keep his starting spot for Saturday’s game against Fulham.

Stones played against Slovan Bratislava. How did they do?
Stones touched the ball 120 times, three more than anyone else except Ilkay Gundogan (145). He completed 109 of the 110 passes he tried.

This meant that 99% of the passes he made were accurate. He also made two key passes and five long balls.

The defender also had two shots on goal and set up a big chance for his team last week.

Even though Bratislava only had 24% of the ball and three shots on goal, Stones did his part on defense by making one stop, intercepting a pass, clearing the ball, blocking one shot, and winning five of the seven duels he was in.

This performance won the 30-year-old an impressive 8.6/10 overall match rating from SofaScore, making him the best City player who didn’t score or set up a goal for the Blues.

Although Stones played defense in this game, Guardiola could also use the England international in midfield against Fulham because Rodri hurt his knee and will be out for the rest of the season.

All of that, plus the fact that he scored the late equalizer against Arsenal to show how good he can be in front of goal, means that Stones deserves to start against Fulham and that now is his chance to shine every game.
