Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers shares why it was best for Celtic rejected Premier Sports TV option

Brendan Rodgers has four events for Celtic to play in this season, so the team’s schedule is very full right now. The Celtic manager’s team plays Aberdeen in the League Cup semi-final in November. He is also making an attack on the Champions League and keeping Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. After the New Year, he will try to protect his Scottish Cup. Because of this, some of the Bhoys’ games have had to be moved to make room for TV broadcasters.

That’s why many Celtic fans were glad when the club turned down the offer to be part of Premier Sports’ 20-game coverage deal. And Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Parkhead, agrees with them. Rodgers praises Celtic for putting fans first. Celtic fans are getting tired of all the trouble it’s causing them to have to change their plans because of the new game schedule.

Rodgers knows that, which is why he praises Celtic for their Prime Sports attitude. Rodgers told the Daily Record, “I think the club has shown that they care about the fans.” “The money was easy for them to take.” But they keep it there for fans who come to watch the games. They should have made a TV show out of it; it would have been great.

The rest of them aren’t. The broadcast deal does bring in some much-needed money for the game, but it looks like the TV companies have too much control over when the games happen. Maybe that’s about to change now that Celtic has taken a stand.
