A FORMER DEFENDER REVEALS THAT CHELSEA, THE ARSENAL STAR, SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE TARGET OF THE 1-1 DRAW
Mario Melchiot, a former Chelsea defender, has proposed that Chelsea should have targeted Arsenal right-back Ben White. Melchiot observed that White appeared “irritated” during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Arsenal’s recent struggles persisted over the weekend, as the team failed to secure any points in its fourth consecutive Premier League encounter. This pattern appears to be testing the patience of both the players and the staff.
Melchior that White appeared “irritated” and abnormally “unstable” during his match against Chelsea on The Kelly and Wrighty Show. The game concluded 1-1 and was Arsenal’s fourth consecutive Premier League match without a win.
Melchiot noted that White, who is known for his ability to manage defensive pressure, appeared uneasy as he engaged in a battle with Chelsea’s offence. Melchiot, in particular, believed that Chelsea could have gained an advantage by concentrating on White, whom he described as “irritated” during the game—a uncommon occurrence for the composed Arsenal defender.
Melchiot stated, “I believed that Chelsea should pursue them, particularly if White is not performing at his best.”
“Typically, he is resilient against players who play at a fast pace; however, in this particular match, he appeared to be agitated and unstable. They should have targeted him.” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has previously commended White’s resilience under duress, and he is recognised for his composed demeanour on the field.
once stated, “Ben has a large personality and manages pressure exceptionally well.” “We have benefited from his versatility and he has been a critical player for us.” White, who has also established a reputation as a “wind-up merchant,” maintains his composure to a remarkable extent.
Consequently, his frustration with Chelsea is a significant indicator of the current level of strain within the Arsenal squad. Arsenal will be eager to regain their form after a challenging run of results, and White’s response to this period will be closely monitored as the team strives to surmount their recent struggles.
