“After Celtic thrashed Rangers 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.” – Chris Sutton delivers his verdict on the derby match and names the most exceptional player in the match

Chris Sutton was thrilled when Celtic beat their rivals from across the city 3-0 on Sunday.

The Hoops easily beat the Gers thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi, and captain Callum McGregor.

Even though the winners put on a great show, McGregor thought they could have done even better.

He believes the Boys in Blue should have scored four or five goals, but it’s hard to find fault with how they played.

Every player on the field did a great job for the winners, who were clearly the best team.

Sutton, a former center forward who is now a commentator, thinks that one Celt stood out.

That’s right, the Englishman thought that Liam Scales’s best game for the Green and Whites was on Sunday.

“Scales is another one who really lived up to the challenge,” Sutton (RecordSport) said.

“Even though we agree that an upgrade might be needed for the Champions League after the concessions made in the group stage last year, you can’t argue with what Scales has done for his team and his boss and is still doing.”

“Yes, Rangers had a few chances to score last weekend, but that was probably the defender’s best game for Celtic.”

“Scales attacked the ball hard, he set himself up well, and he used the ball pretty well for someone who gets criticized when he has it.”

Even though Scales played well over the weekend, Auston Trusty’s signing for Celtic on transfer deadline day made his spot in the team a little less certain.

The American back moved from Sheffield United, where he played for 10 years and cost £6 million.

He is a left-sided center back who was definitely brought in to compete with Scales for a starting spot and maybe even replace him.

Along with seeing who gets more playing time as the season goes on, it should be interesting to see what the Irishman has done over the past year.
