“Agreement Reached” Latest transfer update on Darwin Nunez exit from Liverpool.
According to reports in Spain, Darwin Nunez, a striker for Liverpool, has achieved a verbal agreement to join Atletico Madrid this summer.
This season, the Uruguayan international has encountered difficulty in securing playing time under Arne Slot, starting only eight games in the Premier League.
Liverpool are considering the possibility of selling Nunez during the summer transfer window; however, they will encounter a challenging challenge in recouping their initial £64 million investment in the 25-year-old.
After all add-ons, Liverpool’s 2022 agreement to acquire Nunez from Benfica is valued at £85 million.
Cadena SER reports that Nunez has already communicated with Atletico, and the Liverpool striker has expressed his intention to join Diego Simeone’s team this summer.
The report further states that “all matters have been addressed with the player,” and the sole remaining matter for Atletico is to negotiate a transfer fee with Liverpool.
Napoli has also expressed interest in Nunez, in addition to Atletico. Additionally, the Uruguayan forward has the opportunity to participate in the Saudi Pro League.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is on the brink of finalising their inaugural summer acquisition, as Jeremie Frimpong successfully completed his medical on Monday.
The 24-year-old, who is bound by a €35m (£29.5m) release clause in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, is Liverpool’s preferred candidate to succeed Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Additionally, the Premier League champions are in negotiations to acquire Bournemouth’s left-back, Milos Kerkez.
