Celtic captain Callum McGregor has sent a clear message to supporters as the Hoops gear up for their crucial Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts on Sunday.
The top-of-the-table showdown at Tynecastle will see first take on second, with Hearts holding a five-point lead over Celtic. A win for the Jambos could extend that gap to eight, but McGregor insists there’s no panic within the Celtic camp.
Speaking to Sky Sports from the club’s new Barrowfield indoor facility, McGregor described the mood among his teammates as “calm and focused,” stressing that experience and composure will be key.
“Negativity always comes when you’re not winning games,” McGregor said. “The best way to change that is by getting back to winning regularly. Last night’s performance was a big step in the right direction — we looked more like ourselves again. Now we have to use that as momentum going into Sunday. The boys are calm; we know our jobs and how to win matches. We’ve been here before.”
With Brendan Rodgers missing key players — Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Kelechi Iheanacho — it’s set to be a massive test of Celtic’s depth. Colby Donovan is tipped to start at right-back, although Anthony Ralston’s experience could give him the nod.
