After having great careers at Manchester United and Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo’s playing days are coming to an end. The superstar has now announced when he will quit.

Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he will stop within the next three years, but he also said that he still feels like he has work to do in football.

Ronaldo is now playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. He joined the team in December 2022 after leaving Manchester United in a bad mood. During his first nine years at Real Madrid and his first spell at United, the 39-year-old became a hero.

He is no longer playing in the top leagues because he moved to Saudi Arabia, but he did play for Portugal at Euro 2024. At this point, it looks like that event will be his last time playing in Europe.

Ronaldo has said that he will wrap up his career in three years. Some fans may have hoped that Ronaldo would make one last trip back to Europe to play for his old team, Sporting Lisbon, but he will instead spend his last years at Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo told NOW, “I don’t know if I’ll retire soon—in two or three years—but I think I will retire here at Al-Nassr.” I’m happy in this place and at this club. That’s great to play in Saudi Arabia, and I want to keep it up.

The star player started all of Portugal’s games at Euro 2024, but he didn’t score a goal. The 39-year-old has scored three goals in Al-Nassr’s first three games and hopes to be called up again for the September Nations League games.

But Ronaldo has also made it sound like the end of his international career is coming up quickly. For now, though, he’s just focused on playing. The great has ruled out becoming a coach.

“When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one,” he said.

“What I want right now is to be able to help the national team in their next games.” The Nations League is coming up, and I’d love to play. I’m not thinking about coaching the first team or any other team right now.

“I’ve never thought about it; it never even occurs to me.” That’s not what I see for my future. There are things I want to do besides sports, but who knows what the future holds?

Roberto Martinez, the manager of Portugal, wants his team to win the 2026 World Cup. Ronaldo may have already quit by that time. The Spanish player still thinks the ace is an important part of his team, though.

The name Cristiano makes you think of a striker who gets goals. Our scorer is more than that, though. I was happy with how well he behaved. He created room and responded when he lost the ball. “I think the team as a whole felt bad about Cristiano’s lack of goals,” he told zerozero.

“Players in the box, like Rafael Leão, Bruno Fernandes, and Bernardo Silva, missed chances to score our goals.” We knew Ronaldo would do well as a striker because he did it. In general, he did a great job.
