Dango Ouattara of AFC Bournemouth missed a late winner, and Newcastle United had to settle for a draw on the South Coast.

After VAR ruled out AFC Bournemouth’s late winner against Newcastle United, the team’s great Alan Shearer slammed them.

For the first time in the game, Marcus Tavernier gave the Cherries the lead. Eddie Howe’s team, on the other hand, came back after halftime and tied the game with a goal from Anthony Gordon at the back post.

When Dango Ouattara scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time, it looked like Bournemouth had won the match because both teams were playing well. But after VAR stepped in, the goal was called out, which made the end of the game very chaotic.

Boos rang out at Dean Court when the game was over, and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola looked unhappy with the referees. In the end, even Shearer thought his team got away with something when he talked about X.

He wrote, “A lucky point because that’s a bad call on handball.” Do not play handball with me.”

The Premier League Match Centre wrote on social media to explain their choice: “Ouattara’s goal is awarded on the field.” The VAR overturned the ruling because they thought Ouattara had actually handballed the ball. This meant that there was no need for an on-field review, and the goal was ruled out.

Bournemouth was even more upset that Joelinton only got a yellow card when he caught Neto to stop him from getting away. The Premier League hasn’t said anything about that call yet.

In the end, though, Newcastle got a point on the South Coast. Now the attention is on the first cup game of the season. This Wednesday, the Magpies go to Nottingham Forest to play in the Carabao Cup.
