Callum McGregor, the captain of Celtic, can’t get enough of football. Over the last ten years, he has played an amazing number of minutes.

In all games since 2014, he has played 464 times for the Bhoys and scored 64 goals and set up 77 others [Transfermarkt].

With 53 caps for Scotland, it’s clear that McGregor is a true professional who never lets down either his club or his country.

Even though he is 30 years old, the midfielder doesn’t seem to be slowing down. This is a great sign of his character and desire to keep building a long career legacy.

With an eye on EURO 2024 in Germany, McGregor has now laid out his plans for what he sees as another action-packed summer.

Before the championships, McGregor played a big part in Celtic winning both the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup. Now, he is focusing on doing well with Scotland at the international level.

He told STV News, “It’s all set up now, and of course I’m in Germany, which is a great football country.” The venues and crowds will be great, and I’m sure the Tartan Army will have a great time.

“We’re sure we’ll do well there because we know we’re a good team. Anything could happen if we do well, so we have to go in with faith and confidence and see where that takes us.”

McGregor hopes that Anthony Ralston, Greg Taylor, and James Forrest will also be able to make it to the playoffs. Steve Clarke will announce the next 26 players before the deadline on Friday.

While club football is put on hold, everyone will be interested in what Scotland can do in Germany. Celtic has players who could help them reach their goals.

McGregor will take some time to rest after the games are over before taking the lead for his club in 2024/25.
