aron Glenn Tears Into Jets After Costly Loss to Dolphins
The New York Jets’ nightmare start to the season boiled over on Sunday as head coach Aaron Glenn erupted in frustration following a 27-21 defeat to the Miami Dolphins.
Reporters noted that Glenn’s postgame outburst in the locker room was loud enough to be heard from the press conference room. His anger was understandable: the Jets committed 13 penalties for 101 yards and turned the ball over three times, wasting what could have been a winning performance.
“Very disappointing,” Glenn admitted afterward. “There’s no way you can win with 13 penalties and three turnovers. We have to go back to work. Before we can win games, we have to learn how not to lose them.”
Despite the defeat, the Jets (0-4) actually outgained Miami 404-300. Justin Fields impressed with 226 passing yards, 81 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, while Garrett Wilson chipped in with 82 yards and a score. But red-zone failures (0-for-2) and sloppy execution once again proved costly.
For Glenn, in his first season as Jets head coach after leaving his role as Lions defensive coordinator, it was a harsh reminder of the NFL’s fine margins.
The Jets now turn their focus to Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, with Glenn’s message crystal clear: until the self-inflicted mistakes stop, wins will remain out of reach.
