Amorim has authorised the departure of a player following 105 matches. A Manchester United player is being considered for an unexpected transfer, with the asking price significantly reduced.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has facilitated the potential departure of Casemiro from Old Trafford prior to the closure of the transfer window.

This development follows reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a decisive effort to acquire him for Besiktas, coupled with the Red Devils significantly reducing their asking price to enable the transfer.

The 32-year-old player is currently in his third season at Old Trafford, having joined from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 for a substantial transfer fee of £70 million, accompanied by a weekly salary of approximately £350,000.

Although Casemiro experienced a commendable inaugural season under the management of Erik ten Hag, he encountered significant difficulties during his second season in the Premier League. Consequently, he now occupies a marginal position within the Manchester United squad, having further diminished his standing under the stewardship of Amorim.

Indeed, Casemiro last featured for United back on December 30 in a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle, and last completed a full 90 minutes for the club all the way back in November in a Europa League game against PAOK Salonika.

Having remained an unused substitute in Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Fulham, Casemiro has now been eclipsed by the 21-year-old Toby Collyer within the ranks of the Red Devils. This development provides Amorim with additional justification for transferring a player who presently holds the status of the club’s highest earner.

Consequently, the Spanish publication AS asserts that Manchester United’s decision to pursue the star player, coupled with their willingness to accept a diminished price for the Brazilian midfielder, has instilled in Besiktas a robust conviction that a transfer is feasible.
