Even though Pope Francis died a week ago, US President Donald Trump already has an AI picture of himself as the Pope.
The Republican leader, who is not Catholic, posted the picture on Truth Social. It shows him with a big crucifix around his neck and a white pope hat, which is also called a miter.
He said he didn’t have a favorite next Pope while talking on the White House lawn, but he did joke that there was a “very good” cardinal in New York. A week ago, Pope Francis was buried at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Now, the conclave is meeting to choose a new leader for the Catholic Church.
The 88-year-old man died on Easter Monday. He had spent his “entire life” helping God and the Church. He spent his last hours with the faithful and then came out to bless tens of thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square.
“Is anyone else shocked that Trump would be so blatantly disrespectful?” Not me either. “No class,” said a second. “Trump, as someone who doesn’t live in the U.S., I think your post is completely disrespectful to the Catholic community around the world,” said a third. “For millions of people, the papacy is a holy institution, and this insult to their faith is offensive.” “Please take this down,” one supporter begged. “May Catholics, including myself, find this a great insult to the past and future leader of our church.”
There was a strict dress code for the service at the Vatican. Men had to wear a dark suit with a white shirt and a long black tie.
It was also required that shoes, long pants, coats, and umbrellas be black. There were hundreds of foreign leaders and royalty sitting in the front row with the president. He wore a mid-blue suit with an American flag pin and a shiny blue tie.
It was completely rude. It’s sad for Catholics, and you’re posting this? But this isn’t the only mistake the US President has been accused of making since Pope Francis’ death. He was also accused of breaking the dress code at the funeral by wearing a blue suit and tie.
