Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta sent out a brutal message to prove that Arsenal will win the premier league title
The manager of the opposite team gave the manager of the Gunners high praise and said that Arsenal’s team has no weak spots.
Mikel Arteta has made a huge difference at Arsenal. It was in the bottom half of the Premier League when the Spaniard took over in 2019. They now win.
Getting to the top hasn’t exactly been a straight line. There have been some rough spots. But with each game that goes by, you start to wonder what they are missing. There was nothing that Rob Edwards could find for sure.
When asked what makes Arsenal so hard to play against, the Luton manager said, “They don’t give the other team any chances.” This was after Wednesday’s 2-0 loss at the Emirates. “They didn’t let city do much.” It’s clear how they attack, but it’s hard to stop them because there are so many of them, and they can really smother you.
“I think they’re the only one of the three teams in the fight right now that can play any game.” No matter what kind of hard game it is—football, running, anything—they know how to solve it. They have the right people to play any game. I just don’t see any flaws in them. I don’t see any weak points.”
Before the break for the winter, it was clear that the Gunners had trouble scoring goals. They were only sixth in the Premier League in terms of goals scored by the time they played their last game of 2023. But now they are on top.
The better attacking skills haven’t come at the expense of the defense, though. Understat shows that Arsenal has only given up 4.02 predicted goals in the Premier League this year. For comparison, Manchester City, who is competing for the title, has given up 10.27 goals this year, while Liverpool has given up 11.62.
Arteta has been looking for this kind of control over games ever since he got there. “We have to be dominant” were the first words he said when asked to describe how he wanted his team to play in his first press conference. His side is definitely that right now.
But it’s not like they’ve had it all easy this year. They’ve played some of the league’s toughest teams. This was the first team this season to beat Liverpool without VAR’s help. It was also the first time in over three years that they had stopped City from scoring at the Etihad. They showed maturity both times to get important wins that they didn’t have last season.
They’ve played a lot of different teams during this run, which shows how versatile they are as a team. Brentford and other teams have tried to get rough, but Arsenal has been able to fight back and still win. The Gunners win even when Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice aren’t playing because they try to stretch the game like Luton did on Wednesday night. Arsenal is also happy to take advantage of the gaps when teams like Burnley want to make the game about having the ball. When it comes to seeing the game, the Gunners are pros, and if you’ll excuse the pun, Arteta has given them a huge collection of tactical tools that they can use to beat any obstacle.
It’s easy to see why Edwards failed in his quest to find a weak spot in the Gunners’ defense. He’s not the only one who did that.
Right now, it looks like Arsenal can only be stopped by being tired or not fit. The schedule they have coming up over the next couple of months will be very hard on their team, and they can’t expect to be this good until the end of the season.
Only Jurrien Timber is still out for the Gunners, but even he is close to coming back. Arteta will be hoping that he can stay healthy and help Arsenal win both the Premier League and the Champions League. There are a lot of good players to choose from.
