The first transfer of the January window has been confirmed by Arsenal, as a defender has been signed Arsenal has officially announced the transfer of Josh Robinson to Wigan Athletic, which is Mikel Arteta’s initial transaction of the month.
The League One team has signed the 20-year-old defender to a three-and-a-half-year contract. Robinson was selected as a substitute in four of Arsenal’s six Champions League fixtures this season, despite not having made a senior appearance.
The Hale End academy graduate, who is capable of playing in the center or on the right side of defense, has also appeared in three EFL Trophy matches this season, scoring a goal against Leyton Orient.
“Moving here was a significant decision for him, but Josh is both excited and motivated about our vision for the Club in the coming seasons.
