Arsenal
Arsenal is considering a £100 million striker in January as part of Mikel Arteta’s master plan.
Report: Mikel Arteta’s Masterplan: Arsenal Eyeing £100m Striker in January Arsenal are focused on
acquiring striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, following the Sweden international’s dominance during their most recent Premier League encounter on Saturday. The Arsenal have designated the youthful goalscorer as their primary transfer target, with the intention of augmenting their attacking capabilities with a seasoned striker who can contend with Man City’s you-know-who by the end of June, if not sooner. Arsenal believes that the 25-year-old Swedish forward is the perfect match for Mikel Arteta’s team, particularly in light of their objective to enhance competition for their current options, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, as
reported by TEAMtalk. Arsenal’s leadership is of the opinion that the inclusion of a striker could be instrumental in their aspirations for the Premier League title, as they are currently embroiled in a competitive race with Manchester City and Liverpool. Sources have informed Team Talk that Isak may be amenable to a transfer, as he is reportedly dissatisfied with Newcastle’s lack of progress and desires to participate in European football on a consistent basis. Isak is rumoured to be interested in joining a club with consistent Champions League participation and trophy ambitions, despite his significant influence since joining the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022, which included 21 Premier League goals last season. Arsenal, which is presently in the process of
pursuing a title and is a regular participant in the Champions League, satisfies this criteria. Currently, Isak is one of Newcastle’s highest-earning players and is under contract until 2028. Newcastle is eager to ensure his long-term future. Nevertheless, TEAMtalk observes that there are “significant uncertainties” regarding the striker’s camp’s willingness to negotiate an extension in the near future. Arsenal has identified him as their “dream target” as a result of his hesitation, which has solidified his position in their eyes. Although a mid-season transfer is considered unlikely, it is believed that Newcastle may reconsider their stance next
summer in response to a substantial offer, which is likely to exceed £100 million. Eddie Howe, Newcastle’s manager, has expressed his reluctance to part with Isak, whom he regards as a “difference-maker” for the club. However, the Magpies may be compelled to complete the transfer due to financial constraints related to PSR, regardless of Howe’s preferences. Newcastle has no immediate intentions to entertain any bids for Isak in January, however, particularly given his role as a foundational piece of Howe’s project and the team’s hopes this season,
whatever those may be. Nevertheless, Newcastle’s hierarchy may be faced with a decision to make if Arsenal were to submit a substantial offer in the summer, potentially in the region of £120 million. In all honesty, they would be exceedingly fortunate to secure such a substantial sum for Isak in order to bolster the roster across all positions in preparation for the upcoming season.
