Arsenal ‘make contact’ over deal for Napoli Star player in potential stunning club-record transfer in January.
Arsenal’make communication’ regarding the Napoli transfer. A star player could be acquired in January in a club-record-setting transfer.Reportedly, Arsenal has initiated discussions regarding a club-record transfer
for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. It is believed that Arsenal will seek a new number nine in January, as Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are both struggling to score in the Premier League. However, Italian publication CalcioNapoli24 reports that he is on the verge of signing a new contract with the Serie A club, mere months after his departure appeared inevitable.
Despite this, Arsenal continues to risk their limb, as the club reportedly contacted Roberto Calenda, Osimhen’s agent.
His release clause would increase to €130 million if he were to sign a new contract with Naples; therefore, Mikel Arteta might have to surpass the club’s transfer record to acquire his services.
Arsenal supporters might feel marginally uneasy in light of his prior remarks, which alluded to his preference for a transfer to Chelsea.
Osimhen disclosed on ‘The Obi One podcast’ alongside former Chelsea midfielder and fellow countryman John Obi Mikel that he possesses jerseys from both United and Chelsea.
Osimhen declared, “While I do not possess a preferred Premier League team, I do own two jerseys: Manchester United and Chelsea.”
“While several of my friends support Chelsea, only a minority support Manchester United.”
“Every African player holds the Premier League in the highest regard; it is an enormous league.”
