As a Manchester United fan, I think Ruben Amorim should get rid of these five players
Former Manchester United star Nicky Butt has asked Ruben Amorim to get rid of five players, including Mason Mount, a former Chelsea star.
Fans of Manchester United were mostly optimistic when Amorim took over at Old Trafford last month, after Erik ten Hag was fired. Manchester United didn’t do very well under Ten Hag, even though they did win a couple of cups. When he left, they were only 14th in the Premier League.
United made improvement in Amorim’s second game in charge, beating Everton by a score of 4. However, the Red Devils then lost to Arsenal, who were chasing the title, and to Nottingham Forest, who were a surprise top-four contender.
Amorim was able to improve things by leading United to a late comeback win over Manchester City in the derby. However, United have lost three straight games since that win at the Etihad.
Tottenham beat them in the Carabao Cup and then they lost badly to Bournemouth and Wolves without scoring a goal. So, Manchester United is still 14th in the Premier League, 20 points behind leaders Liverpool (who also have a game in hand) and only eight points above the relegation zone. Amorim has said again that it will take time to put his thoughts into action with the team. The Portuguese manager is likely to make some signings of his own in both the January transfer window and next summer. As a result, some players will have to leave the Theatre of Dreams, and Butt told talkSPORT about five players he thinks should be let go. When asked if he would “keep or sell” a few first-team players, the six-time Premier League winner said he would be looking to get rid of a few stars, such as Mount, the midfielder for Chelsea and England.
