Lisandro Martinez will be out for a long time again for Manchester United, but he is still making a difference off the bench.

Amad Diallo, a player for Manchester United, has praised Lisandro Martinez for helping him get better after getting hurt during a tough season. Amad is the latest person to praise Martinez’s leadership skills. Martinez is still working to get fit and fight for his spot in Erik ten Hag’s plans.

After a good loan stint at Sunderland last season, where he scored 14 goals and set up 4 others in 42 games, the 21-year-old winger was set for a big season.

But Amad hurt his knee badly on United’s pre-season tour of the US and couldn’t play for five months. In December, he returned to first-team training.

He played his first game, a 36-minute cameo in United’s 2-1 loss at Nottingham Forest on December 30. Since then, he has been a replacement for three games but has not played.

In a recent interview, Amad, who wants to make a name for himself before the end of the season, named Martinez as a teammate who helped him get better after getting hurt at the worst possible time.

Martinez has had his own medical problems this season. He had a recurrence of the foot problem that kept him out for the end of his first season in England.

The 26-year-old World Cup winner came back to play in January, but he could only do so four times before his medial collateral ligament in his knee gave him a new problem.

He is likely to be out for another six to eight weeks. During his short time back on the field, he showed United what they had been missing while he was away.

Ten Hag spent a lot of money (£57 million) to get Martinez from Ajax in 2022. The Argentinean international helped Ten Hag have a good first year in charge at Old Trafford.

After Martinez’s most recent loss, the Dutchman said, “You can see how much he helps the team when he plays. He brings more than just technical skills to the team; he also brings a way of thinking.”

“Licha’s bad luck is really bad. His heart is broken, but he is a fighter, and he will come back stronger than before. He might be back by the end of the season, we think.

Martinez is sure to be one of the top options when United needs to find a new captain to replace Bruno Fernandes. Because of what Amad said, there is even more proof.
