Atletico Madrid is preparing for the future in the absence of Diego Simeone.The Spanish club has been investigating potential successors to the Argentine.
Diego Simeone, the Argentine coach, may be departing Atletico Madrid in the near future, as per Relevo. According to the source, Atlético has been investigating potential head coach successors for the past five months.
The sports management is concerned with ensuring that the club is not unprepared for any potential departures. Since the summer, Atlético has been contemplating their options; however, this is not an imperative matter.
It is emphasised that the departure may be voluntary, agreed upon, or forced, and that the primary focus is presently on the management policy rather than the club’s performance. Simeone is held in high regard by Atlético;
however, he perceives that it is becoming increasingly challenging to maintain the team’s current level of performance, despite the team’s recent overhaul. The appointment of Carlos Busero as the new sporting director has also contributed to the deteriorating relationship between the club and the head coach.
He is purportedly endeavouring to reduce Simeone’s responsibilities, as he was previously responsible for nearly all matters. Furthermore, Busero was reluctant to recruit Giuliano Simeone, the coach’s son, for Atlético Madrid.
The coaching position at Atletico is open to a variety of popular candidates. Jurgen Klopp, Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Unai Emery, Marcelino García Toral, and Fernando Torres are all considered to be the contenders.
Additionally, Busero has a profound respect for Julen Lopetegui and Luis de la Fuente, with whom he has previously collaborated.
