The way Brendan Rodgers’ team played against Rangers in their win was like what fans will see in a Glasgow Derby.

All four derbies played last season were very close, with only one goal separating Celtic and Rangers.

With the first ten minutes out of the way, Celtic Park was completely dominant, with many players stepping up to the plate.

So when Craig Moore gave his opinion on the game and especially on Celtic’s play, it made people at Ibrox scratch their heads.

Moore: Against Rangers, no Celtic player stood out.

Moore, a former Rangers defender, said some strange things right after the game was over at Celtic Park about how he thought Brendan Rodgers’ team played in their easy win over Rangers.

Moore told The Go Radio Football Show, “I just think it shows how far apart Rangers and Celtic are right now.”

“Again, I don’t think Celtic had a player who stood out today, but I thought they were good overall.”

“Rangers worked hard for the first five to ten minutes of the first half, but they weren’t even close to good enough.”

“I really feel bad for the supporters because, as we said, the window is now closed.”

“And they need to try to support this team and hope that they can do better.”

The players who stood out for Celtic against Rangers
Moore will probably realize how wrong he was when he says those things now that he has thought about them. Celtic had at least five great players that day.

Paulo Bernardo did a great job in the middle of the Celtic defense when Matt O’Riley was injured and couldn’t play.

Celtic had some great stops from Kasper Schmeichel at important times, and Rangers had a hard time all day from Kyogo Furuhashi.

Daizen Maeda kept giving James Tavernier nightmares. The Celtic winger again let the Rangers captain down and scored against the Ibrox club.

Nicolas Kuhn and Alistair Johnston played great on the right side of Celtic’s flank, and Callum McGregor’s goal was a great example of the team’s strong play against Rangers.

I also haven’t talked about Reo Hatate and Liam Scales, who were both good, so I guess Moore is right that there wasn’t a real star player for Celtic in the win over his old team.
