Barcelona is confronted with an injury concern to Robert Lewandowski prior to Dortmund’s return to the Champions League. Prior to the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday,
Barcelona were confronted with an injury concern to Robert Lewandowski. On Monday evening, Lewandowski was observed conversing with the coaching staff and stroking the back of his thigh during a training session in Germany with Hansi Flick and his team.
There is a suggestion that Lewandowski experienced an emotion, which would indicate that the club may be hesitant to put him at risk in a match where they will be 4-0 up after the first leg. Flick has already been predicted to start Ferran Torres ahead of Lewandowski for the match, and he will undoubtedly be hesitant to take any risks with his leading scorer. Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference, the Barcelona manager had lavished praise on Lewandowski prior to training.
“The presence of a player of his calibre on the team is evident,” he stated. “He is highly professional and possesses a wealth of experience.” We put a great deal of trust in him, and he consistently demonstrates his capabilities and the qualities that distinguish him as a talented player. He serves as an excellent example for the rest of us.
