There are only three goals remaining for the Barcelona superstar to enter the elite company of Messi and Ronaldo.Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona striker, has been in phenomenal form this season, reclaiming his peak performance under the guidance of Hansi Flick.
The 36-year-old Poland centre-forward has scored 17 goals in 15 games this season, with 14 of them coming in La Liga and three more in the UEFA Champions League.Lewandowski is on the brink of joining an elite society that includes Ronaldo and Messi. Lewandowski is edging closer to establishing his name in the annals of the UEFA Champions League as Barcelona prepares to face Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday night.
The Barça striker is only three goals away from reaching the century mark, which would position him in the company of the greatest goalscorers in the history of the competition:
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with 97 goals in the top European competition. In the Champions League, only two players have scored more than 100 goals. The Argentine legend scored 129 goals between Barcelona and PSG, while the Portuguese icon scored 140 goals in the competition with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

At Barcelona, he has already scored 11 goals in 17 matches. I would not be surprised if Lewandowski were to achieve this mystical figure against Crvena Zvezda. After all, Lewandowski had scored goals in five consecutive matches for Barcelona in recent weeks, including a brace against Young Boys, a hat-trick against Alaves, two more goals against Sevilla, one against Bayern Munich, and another double against Real Madrid.
In the derby against Espanyol, Lewandowski was unable to score, which is an aberration given his performance this season. He will undoubtedly be motivated to rectify this situation against Crvena Zvezda tomorrow.
