The Barcelona defender is expected to miss the El Clasico against Real Madrid today due to his

absence from training. Barcelona will travel to the Spanish capital this weekend to face the incumbent La Liga champions Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Blaugrana, who are currently the league leaders and the most in-form team in Europe, are the clear favorites in the upcoming match against Carlo Ancelotti’s team. This is further exacerbated by the fact that they have recently recovered a number of their injured players. However, Eric Garcia is absent. However, it seems that Eric Garcia, a versatile defender, will be unable to participate in the El Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona tomorrow. In fact, Mundo Deportivo reports that the former La Masia trainee has not participated in the training session with the rest of the group today, which virtually guarantees his absence for the heavyweight match tomorrow.

Garcia sustained an adductor injury just prior to the start of the match against Sevilla last week and was unable to participate in the succeeding UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Despite some optimism that Garcia would recuperate in time for the Clasico, concerns regarding his availability resurfaced following his absence from yesterday’s training session. Additionally, Garcia’s absence from today’s sessions virtually guarantees his ineligibility for the Madrid excursion. Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ferran Torres, and Marc Bernal will also be absent from Barcelona’s squad for the Clasico with him. Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, and David Alaba are among the important players who are absent from Real Madrid.
