“Because of the team, I am so proud.” After securing their victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup finals, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk breaks speaks up and adds some fascinating remarks to his interview on the match
Virgil van Dijk offered his thoughts immediately following the scoring of the lone goal that contributed to Liverpool’s victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
The fact that Virgil van Dijk was a leader was made abundantly evident when he spoke after Liverpool’s victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final, which they won 1-0. The leader of the Reds scored the only goal of the game in extra time, but he did not want to grab all the glory for his own outstanding performance. In its place, he desired to pay tribute to his fellow players.
As Van Dijk took in all of the applause and displays of excitement that followed the header in the 118th minute, it was obvious that he was feeling emotional. However, like a great leader, he took the time to compliment the young players that had worked very hard to defeat their opponents.
When asked what the victory and goal meant to him, Van Dijk responded with “So much,” as he was questioned by Sky Sports. In order to divert attention away from his objective, he did this. During the extra time, each and every one of the little lads was present on the field. I cannot express how thankful I am for the accomplishments of the team.
“It was a tough game for both teams; they had chances and we did too.” What a cool thing. Just take a moment to bask in the glory of your first award as the captain of Liverpool. It’s all for the sake of the fans. For everything that the boys accomplish, I am extremely proud of them. We were able to accomplish a lot today thanks to the efforts of each and every one of the young lads. It is incredible, and we are now moving on to other things.
Van Dijk expressed his satisfaction with the time he spent with Jurgen Klopp, who was leaving his position as head coach of Liverpool, during the final season there. “You should always savour the good moments, this is definitely one of them,” according to him.
We will never, ever take anything for granted, so please listen. In spite of the fact that we had a lot of issues before the game, we did a terrific job, despite the fact that we ended up losing tonight. However, the sons are the ones who make me the most proud. There are numerous things that make me proud.
Van Dijk’s goal in the first half was called back because of a similar incident that occurred during the first half. A free kick was taken by Andy Robertson from the left side of the field. The captain of the team met the ball and headed it past Djordje Petrovic. When it came to the stopping position, Wataru Endo, on the other hand, was ruled offside.
After nearly two hours of intense play, Liverpool’s younger players were able to keep them in the game and even take the lead against Chelsea’s more experienced players when they won a corner and set up Van Dijk to score the game-winning goal during the match.
After Kostas Tsimikas curled in an inswinger, Van Dijk was able to get past Axel Disasi and head the ball past Mykhaylo Mudryk. This occurred after Tsimikas had curled in the ball. Instead of concentrating on the euphoric festivities at Wembley, he would rather concentrate on the team.
