Now that the season is over, Celtic fans will only be interested in where Brendan Rodgers will look to make the team stronger for next year.

As everyone knows, the Celtic manager wants to get a goalkeeper now that Joe Hart has retired. However, that doesn’t mean that other spots on the team don’t also need work.

And now that Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo, two stars on loan from Celtic, are going back to their home clubs, Rodgers has to decide if he wants to make both of them permanent members of his team.

We all know how Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board feel about the Republic of Ireland player. Reports say that Celtic is really interested in Bernardo and is trying to work out a deal with Benfica to get the Portuguese U21 leader. The 22-year-old “wants to stay” at the club, which makes the deal even more appealing.

“Right away, Paulo Bernardo’s future lies at Celtic,”

There are many signs that suggest Bernardo will stay longer at Paradise. Pedro Moutinho, a former Portugal U21 player and Falkirk defender, has said that the Benfica player’s “immediate future” is with the Scottish champions. This makes that feeling even stronger.

Moutinho told The Celtic Way, “He seems like the kind of player who will be a good fit for Celtic going forward, especially with Rodgers in charge and playing the manager’s style of football.”

Leonardo can play as a 6, 8, or 10 and could do all of those things for Celtic if they asked him to. He is a really great player.

“Bernardo could reach his full potential under Rodgers, and the Celtic manager would help him grow as a player.”

“I don’t think it would be too hard to persuade the player that Celtic is where he wants to be right now.”

“Bernardo played in all six Champions League games last season. Based on the fact that the Champions League will look different and have a different format next season, he may want to stay and give that a try.”

With a league and Scottish Cup double in just one season at Celtic, Bernardo has made history.

The Portuguese player played a big role in Adam Idah’s game-winning goal at Hampden Park. He also scored important goals as Celtic defended their Scottish Premiership title.

If Matt O’Riley were to leave Celtic this summer, most people think that Bernardo would be the best person to take his place.

One thing is for sure, though: Celtic fans are already buzzing about which players will join the team, so this summer will be long and exciting.
