Chris Davies is under increasing pressure at Birmingham City, with the club reportedly compiling a shortlist of potential replacements.
According to Football Insider, the 40-year-old head coach is facing scrutiny after Birmingham’s 3-0 defeat away to Sheffield United. Goals from Tyler Bindon, Gustavo Hamer and Patrick Bamford sealed the win for the Blades, cutting the gap between the two sides to just three points.
The loss highlighted Birmingham’s ongoing struggles on the road, marking their eighth defeat in 12 away league matches since promotion. While Davies guided the club to a record-breaking promotion last season with 111 points, their current Championship campaign has stalled.
Although Davies is not facing immediate dismissal, reports suggest he must secure wins in the upcoming matches against Derby County and Southampton to ease the pressure. Birmingham sit 14th in the table, six points off the play-offs as the season nears its halfway mark.
With owner Tom Wagner targeting a return to the Premier League, the club is preparing contingency plans should a managerial change be required over the festive period.
