Bobby Madden’s argument for Rangers’ penalty in Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup victory is flimsy, as he states, “It doesn’t matter.

“Neil Lennon referred to Liam Scales as a “lucky boy” after he conceded a free-kick on the perimeter of the area during Celtic’s victory over Rangers this afternoon.

Bobby Madden, a former referee, stated that the Light Blues should have received a “100 percent penalty” instead of the set-piece they were awarded, which was more than that.In order to terminate Celtic’s “clumsy” build-up play, Scales had emerged from the bench to replace Auston Trusty.

However, the Irishman was in a state of disarray during extra time, as the score was 3-3 in the tumultuous Premier Sports Cup Final that took place at Hampden Park today.

Scales conceded the ball to Vaclav Cerny just beyond the Celtic area before grabbing the Czech’s uniform and dragging the attacker to the ground.

Whistler John Beaton whistled for a foul and indicated to the location outside the box where the infringement had occurred.

Nevertheless, Madden, as he frequently does, maintained that the holding should have been considered a penalty, as it extended into the box or was simply on the line. He believes that it was a clear spot-kick.

Bobby Madden states that Rangers should have received a penalty for Liam Scales’ charge on Vaclav Cerny.

It is uncertain whether VAR conducted a thorough investigation of the incident, as the commentators debated on Premier Sports. It goes without saying that Alan Hutton and Scott Arfield both believed it to be a penalty.

We are taken aback! However, Madden has now expressed his opinion on the matter, stating that he was convinced that VAR should have intervened and rectified Beaton’s error.

“This is (100 percent) a penalty kick,” Madden wrote on his Instagram page, adding a still image of the draw. The penalty shootout victors were Daizen Maeda and Kasper Schmeichel.

“The timing of the holding, its conclusion, or the direction in which the players are moving is irrelevant.” This is unequivocal evidence of holding within the penalty area, and I am astounded that VAR has not detected it.
