Bojan Miovski or Lawrence Shankland? 52 years-old coach Neil Lennon gave his reasons of whom Celtic Fc should sign and prioritize before transfer window deadline
A Celtic fan named Neil Lennon believes that both Bojan Miovski of Aberdeen and Lawrence Shankland of Hearts could play for Celtic.
There is only one week left in the January transfer window, and Nicolas Kuhn is the only player that Celtic and Brendan Rodgers have brought in.
When asked what he thought of the January transfer window so far, John Hartson was pretty honest. There has been a lot of talk about whether the club will bring in another striker.
Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland are two players who have been talked about a lot because they are getting so many goals.
The pair’s skills were praised by Neil Lennon, who told PLZ Soccer that the Aberdeen hitman “suits Celtic’s style more” because of how he moves around the field.
But he did say that Lawrence Shankland has “blossomed” recently and that he is a “exceptional finisher.”
Whether it’s this month or in the summer, Aberdeen and Hearts should do everything they can to keep their best players. They are likely performing above their levels right now.
Celtic’s search for a striker
“I think two of them are very good,” Lennon said of Miovski and Shankland.
Then they ask him if he will take them at Celtic. He says, “Yes, I will.” I believe they could play for both Celtic and Rangers. How well Lawrence Shankland finished the job. Some people say he’s not very active, but I saw him live in the derby and thought he was great. He did a great job with hold-ups and finishing. That’s what he did again.
“I saw Miovski play against Hibs in the semi-final.” I thought he was great. He can move around better and wants to run more. But at this level, both of them are very good scorers. You could flip a coin to decide who to pick. This season, Lawrence has really grown. He really does a great job of finishing.
Celtic may like Miovski’s style of play better because he moves around the field more than Lawrence. There’s no doubt about Lawrence’s ending. The Miovski I like. I really like him. It wouldn’t surprise me if he played for more than one club, and not just in Scotland. He might also play for sides in England.
The numbers from Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland
Hearts are currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership table. Without Shankland, you can bet that they wouldn’t be even close to that spot.
The 28-year-old has scored 13 goals in 22 league games this season, three of which have been in Europe. He has also scored two goals in seven foreign games.
But Miovski is four years younger. Playing for an Aberdeen team that is having a tough time. Has scored nine goals in 18 league games and four goals in Europe.
Celts fans are right when they say that these two aren’t as good as Kyogo Furuhashi and that they shouldn’t be pushed for.
But some will think that they would add that much-needed quality to the Japan star that some are calling for.
