Bombers QB Chris Streveler speaks out on Instagram following his injury, explains if or not he will be available for the playoff clash with Alouettes

Streveler Issues Emotional Statement After Injury as Playoff Status Remains Uncertain

With the CFL playoffs just around the corner, Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Chris Streveler has broken his silence following the lower-body injury that forced him out of Saturday’s regular-season finale.

The 30-year-old signal caller took to Instagram on Sunday morning to share his thoughts just a day after limping off in the first quarter of Winnipeg’s 19–10 victory over the Montreal Alouettes.

“Been trying to wrap my mind around what happened yesterday and the road ahead,” Streveler wrote. “All I know is this — I have no regrets. About how I worked, how I led, how I treated people, and how I gave everything every time I stepped on the field. I’m not sure what the future looks like, but I believe better things are waiting for me on the other side of this recovery.”

Streveler thanked fans for their support and said he hoped his attitude would inspire others to stay strong through adversity.

The injury occurred early in the first quarter when Streveler attempted to escape pressure near his own 19-yard line. While cutting inside to evade a tackle from Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund, the quarterback appeared to tweak his left leg and immediately went down in visible pain. He was helped off the field by trainers and was unable to put any weight on the injured leg.

It’s an unfortunate setback for the veteran, who had already endured a torn trio of ligaments in the same knee during the 2024 Banjo Bowl. Streveler completed just one pass for 13 yards before exiting the game.

With his status for Saturday’s East Division Semifinal in Montreal now in serious doubt, Zach Collaros is expected to reclaim the starting duties, while Terry Wilson will serve as his backup after replacing Streveler this weekend.

Streveler, a Crystal Lake, Illinois native, returned to Winnipeg in 2024 after several seasons in the NFL, where he spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets.

During the 2025 campaign, he appeared in 18 games, throwing for 1,103 yards, six touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while also rushing for 301 yards and nine scores.

The Blue Bombers wrapped up their regular season with a 10–8 record, finishing fourth in the West Division and advancing to the postseason as the CFL’s cross-over team.
