Boro decide Rob Edwards’ fate before Birmingham City game amid growing Wolves interest

Wolves have reportedly identified Rob Edwards as their top target to replace Vitor Pereira, with fresh updates emerging from Middlesbrough ahead of their clash with Birmingham City.

According to sources close to Molineux News, Edwards will not be in the Middlesbrough dugout for Saturday’s game. The 42-year-old missed both training and his pre-match press conference, fueling speculation that his move to Wolves is imminent.
It’s understood Middlesbrough informed Edwards on Saturday morning that he would not take charge of the team against Birmingham, as discussions over his future continue. Despite signing a three-year deal in the summer, negotiations are now focused on how his departure will be finalized.
Wolves, who face Chelsea this evening, are pushing to appoint Edwards as their next head coach — even if that means cutting into their January transfer budget. An official update on the situation could arrive by late Saturday or early Sunday, just a week after Pereira’s dismissal.
