The Manchester City team has a history of getting great young players from other sides.
For instance, City spent a lot of money to get Jeremy Doku from Rennes and Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window before.
Pep Guardiola’s team has been linked with many players from the top five European leagues during this transfer window.
In fact, a reporter has now said that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to get another one of Europe’s best young players before Manchester City does. This player has recently been on City’s transfer watchlist.
Fabrizio Romano says Paris Saint-Germain wants to sign Man City’s trade target more than anything else.
Fabrizio Romano recently wrote this on his public X account about the subject.
He said, “Paris Saint-Germain is ready to let Manu Ugarte go to Manchester United because they want Joao Neves more than anything else.”
“After the agreement between Joao and PSG, talks about the fee are still going on with Benfica.” Man United and PSG are still talking about the Ugarte fee.
If City wants to sign Neves, it might be hard.
Neves has a release clause worth €120m (£100m), and he is only 19. He has played 75 senior games for Benfica in all competitions, hitting four goals and setting up three others from his defensive midfield position.
This month, O Jogo said that City is still interested in the Benfica player, even though the French club has made an offer to sign him.
A new report from A Bola (via Sport Witness) says that Neves is only thinking about joining PSG and not City or Manchester United, who are close rivals.
Because of this, it seems like it will be hard for the Blues to get Neves, even though Bernardo Silva recently said he would ask his Portugal partner to join him at the Etihad Stadium.
