Manchester United
BREAKING: After negotiations with Newcastle United and Sunderland, the winger has signed a four-year contract, thereby confirming that he was rejected by Manchester United
Following his decision to decline a new contract at Old Trafford, Omari Forson has moved on to play for a different club outside of Manchester United.
Omari Forson’s contract with Manchester United has come to an end, and as a result, Monza, a team competing in Serie A, has stated that he will be arriving there on a free transfer.
It was during the 2023-24 season that the 19-year-old made his debut with the first-team squad of Manchester United, where he played seven games across all competitions. Despite the fact that the Red Devils presented the winger with a new contract, he declined it in favor of a four-year agreement with the Italian club Monza.
The young player was apparently in discussions with Newcastle United on the possibility of a free transfer, which led to this development. The adolescent was also rumored to be interested in playing for Middlesbrough and Sunderland, both of which are Championship clubs. Forson was referred to as “one of the most promising prospects in Europe” in an official statement that was released by Monza on Wednesday.
The following is an excerpt from the statement: “Omari Nathan Forson is officially a player for AC Monza.” A contract that will keep the English winger with the Biancorossi until the 30th of June in 2028 has been signed.
“He was born in London on July 20, 2004, and went to Manchester United when he was 14 years old. It was then that he established himself as a prominent figure in the Youth Sector.
It was in January of 2021 when he signed his first professional contract with the English team. His remarkable progression brought him to the First Team in the summer of 2023, and he made his official debut in the FA Cup match against Wigan on January 8, 2024. His remarkable growth path lead him to the First Team.
Over the course of his career, Forson has participated in 14 matches for England’s young national teams, ranging from the Under 15 to the Under 20 levels.
Forson, who is considered to be one of the most promising prospects in Europe, is the first player that Monza has signed for the 2024/25 season.
Not only did Monza finish in 12th place in Serie A the previous year, but they have also been connected with a transfer for Loris Karius after it was confirmed that the goalkeeper had been released from his contract with Newcastle.
