BREAKING: Al Hilal has reached an agreement to pay €25 million to Barcelona in order to award Romano €15 million in salaries
Barcelona is still waiting for Joao Cancelo, a right back they want, but Al Hilal, a big team from Saudi Arabia, has agreed to sign the Portuguese defender from Manchester City.
In fact, Fabrizio Romano, a trade expert, says that Manchester City and Al Hilal have agreed to pay €25 million for the 30-year-old full-back.
Cancelo is the key to everything.
So, now everything rests on Cancelo and what he wants to do: agree to move to Al Hilal or keep waiting for Barcelona.
Last season, the 30-year-old played on loan at Barcelona. It was a rough season with some highs and lows. Catalonia, on the other hand, has been very interested in getting him back, even if it’s only on loan.
But Manchester City has been trying to get rid of Cancelo for good so they can make some money, which has stopped his return to Barcelona.
After coming to an agreement with the Premier League champions, Al Hilal is said to have given the player a lucrative deal worth €15 million net per season.
Now it’s up to him to decide whether to accept that offer or keep hanging out for Barcelona, even though there are no guarantees that he will come back since the Catalan giants are still having trouble signing Dani Olmo.
Barcelona has a lot of choices.
As long as Cancelo doesn’t come back, Barcelona has enough right backs to cover any needs.
Jules Kounde showed off his skills again in this past weekend’s game against Athletic Club. Youngster Hector Fort is also still available for Hansi Flick to use.
Also, if anyone gets hurt or suspended, the boss could use Marc Casado, who can play right back if needed, just like he did with Barça Atlético last season.
