BREAKING: In addition to AC Milan and Manchester United, Newcastle and West Ham are all competing for the ‘unbelievable’ £30 million-rated Chelsea player

It’s all the rage at St. James Park right now that Newcastle United wants to add more players to their team.
Even though the summer transfer window ends at the end of next month, Newcastle United still wants to add to Eddie Howe’s defensive choices.

Following the end of Lloyd Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth last month, the Magpies have already finished the free transfer of the defender. But club skipper Jamaal Lascelles and Dutch center back Sven Botman are still out for a long time because of injuries. This means Howe is still short-handed in the middle of his back four as the new Premier League season approaches quickly.

United has been linked with a number of center-backs in recent weeks, including Dean Huijsen, Antonio Silva, Malick Thiaw, and Dean Huijsen from Juventus. However, the latest rumor is that the Magpies have “joined the race” to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea’s academy after he was left out of the Blues’ trip to the U.S. earlier this week.

This decision was made by Chelsea’s head coach Enzo Maresca. He said, “First of all, from my point of view, it’s always sad to leave players out, whether it’s during preseason, in the squad, or in the first eleven, because in the end they all work for the same goal, which is to be part of the same team.” For me, the situation at Trevoh is pretty clear. We have Axel (Disasi), Tosin (Adarabioyo), Wes (Fofana), who has worked hard over the last two weeks and is finally back, and some very young players like Josh Acheampong, who is doing great. We have to make the choice, even though it’s sad.

According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle and West Ham are both “considering whether to offer Chalobah a route out of Chelsea.” This comes after reports that Chalobah feels he is being forced out of his old club by their new head coach. There is said to be fierce competition for the signing of the former England Under-21 international, as Manchester United, AC Milan, Fulham, and Crystal Palace have all been linked with the versatile defender in recent months.

The report says that Maresca’s decision to leave Chalobah out of his squad for the pre-season tour on the other side of the Atlantic has “put on red alert” both Newcastle and West Ham. It also says that the defender wants to move to a club that either plays in European competitions this season or has “a strong chance” of finishing in the top seven.

Official inquiries are still being made, but Chelsea is said to value the back at around £30 million. The story also says that the Blues would rather Chalobah leave Stamford Bridge for good than go on loan to another team. Earlier in his career, Chalobah had short-term deals with Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, and the French club Lorient.
