To ensure that Pep Guardiola remains at the Etihad, Manchester City is prepared to implement a significant contract modification. In other words, this season may be Guardiola’s final one at the Manchester club, unless he signs another extension. Guardiola expressed his desire to have his contract at City extended just prior to the commencement of the season; however, it is unlikely that he will remain at the Manchester club for an additional eight years. In an effort to retain the 53-year-old at the Etihad beyond this campaign, a recent report has emerged containing some behind-the-scenes details on what sort of contract City could look to offer the Blues’ manager, who is currently in the midst of his ninth season in charge. Guardiola may receive a rotating contract from Manchester City. Following a recent article from The Times that asserted that the FA had pursued Guardiola as a top candidate for the position of England manager, a report from talkSPORT stated the following regarding the City manager.

It was stated that the Spaniard was contacted regarding the England position at the beginning of this season and has not disqualified himself from consideration, as his contract with Manchester City is set to expire next summer. Nevertheless, talkSPORT has learned that City are amenable to the FA’s approach and are prepared to provide Guardiola with a flexible contract that would allow him to extend his contract by one year at a time. Guardiola disclosed a “promise” regarding the destiny of Manchester City. The Catalan has managed the Citizens since 2016, overseeing 483 matches in all competitions, winning 357, drawing 66, and losing 66. Guardiola has led the club to six Premier League titles, one Champions League, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA SuperCup since his arrival. It would be reasonable to presume that the entire club would be delighted to see Guardiola extend his stay, even if it meant signing a rolling contract, given the 53-year-old’s extensive success in winning trophies with City during his time in England. Guardiola expressed the following sentiment regarding his future at City and the current state of England during the most recent international break. He stated, “I have no intention of becoming the next England manager; however, I can assure you that if I were to make a decision regarding my future with Manchester City, I would inform you.” I am completely unaware. However, reality is unpredictable.
