This summer, Joshua Zirkzee moved from Bologna to Man United and now the team has revealed his shirt number.
Manchester United has said that Joshua Zirkzee will wear the No.11 shirt during his first season with the club.
United announced last month that they had signed Zirkzee, their first player of the summer transfer window. They paid €42.5 million to get him from Bologna. He signed a contract that was good for five years with the chance for one more year.
During the summer transfer window, United wanted to add a new attacker, and they saw Zirkzee as a player who could help Rasmus Hojlund and give him competition. United cut down on their forwards at the end of the 2017–18 season because Anthony Martial wasn’t given a new contract.
Zirkzee, who helped the Netherlands make it to the semi-finals of the European Championship this summer, has been given the No.11 shirt since Hojlund was recently given the famous No.9 shirt.
It looked like the Dane would get the No. 9 shirt after Martial was let go by the club at the end of June.
