Changes are occurring in the game, and the most significant effects are striking closer to home than they ever have before. With the signing of a Name, Image, and Likeness deal with Adidas, Tristen Keys, a wide receiver for Hattiesburg High School, has become only the third high school football player in the United States to sign a contract with the global sportswear corporation.
Tristen Keys, a five-star wide receiver from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was in Oxford on Wednesday for another meeting with Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels coaching staff.
In addition to the fact that Keys’ prep team traveled to campus in order to take part in the Rebels’ 7-on-7 Tournament, the trip also afforded the five-star player the chance to engage in further conversation with the coaching staff.
Despite the fact that the No. 1 wide receiver in the United States is still committed to Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers for the 2026 recruiting cycle, Ole Miss and other schools are still interested in acquiring his services.
Following an outstanding junior season in which he led his Hattiesburg High School team to a 13-1 record in 2024, Keys is coming off of an amazing junior campaign in which he logged 58 receptions, 1,275 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns in the previous season.
After that, it laid the groundwork for him to make a meteoric rise in the rankings and emerge as the best receiver in the United States.
The highly sought-after prospect is a five-star potential according to the general consensus, and the Rebels are now getting more face-to-face interaction with him.
During an interview with High School On SI, Keys stated, “Everything I am good at, I want to be great at.” I want to be quicker, more explosive, better at my cuts, more in sync with my routes, loosen my hips more, and attack the ball more so that I can improve my overall performance.
I would like to improve myself in general. The goal I have set for myself is to become a better route runner; I have made progress in that area, but I have room for improvement.
After returning from an official visit with the Miami Hurricanes over the past weekend, Keys is scheduled to visit the LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Alabama Crimson Tide. In addition, Keys is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Volunteers.
During the process of evaluating his potential candidates, Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are also scheduled to make an official visit of their own kind.
The LSU Tigers are the ones who currently hold the commitment, but it will be a battle down the road because the Miami Hurricanes and other teams will be making noise during his recruitment process this summer.
