During his tenure at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho caused Mohamed Salah to weep in front of his teammates following an incident that transpired in the dressing room.
Salah’s hellish tenure at Chelsea ensued subsequent to his £11 million transfer from Basel in January 2014, prior to his eventual arrival at Liverpool.
Salah, who was 21 years old at the time, was unable to establish himself at Stamford Bridge and instead played a supporting role. He enjoyed loan stints with other teams in the West London area.
He was acquired by the club during his tenure under Mourinho.
However, Mourinho was unable to extract the maximum performance from the Egyptian winger, and he even caused him to weep in the presence of his teammates in the dressing room.
John Oki Mike, a former Chelsea midfielder, recounted his experience playing under Mourinho, disclosing that he caused Salah to cry.
Mikel responded, “Amazing, fantastic guy,” when asked about Mourinho during That Peter Crouch Podcast. Not only as a coach, but also as a human being. He is a person with whom you can communicate and establish a connection. However, it is evident that he has his own methods of maximizing the performance of athletes.
“Did he occasionally overstep the mark?” Certainly, he did. He did, of course, occasionally violate the boundaries with his communication with athletes. Particularly for those who are younger. However, it was simply the period during which he endeavored to optimize the performance of his athletes.
He further stated, “He did that to Mo Salah when he was arguing with him in the dressing room. Mo Salah began to cry, and he removed him.” Occasionally, when you are displeased with participants, you simply remove them.
“Alternatively, you may attempt to correct the error by allowing them to reenter the game.” However, on occasion, he does so and informs you, “You will not be returning.” It is a double catastrophe, is it not?
Mourinho’s treatment of Salah underscores his ruthless management style.
However, it is evident that his approach has been successful, as he has guided Chelsea to two Premier League titles, in addition to his Champions League victories with Porto and Inter Milan.
