BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City 115 charges, Every word Pep Guardiola said, what it might cause the club
What’s new with Manchester City? Richard Masters talks about the club’s 115 charges for allegedly breaking the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
It will happen “near future” for Manchester City to answer their 115 financial charges, according to Richard Masters, the head of the Premier League.
The club was charged with 115 different alleged breaches of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules from 2009 to 2018, which were made public in February 2023. The city strongly denies the charges.
As a result of the thorough engagement and large amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been given, Manchester City FC was surprised by the charges that were brought against them last year. The club said in a statement that they were “surprised” by the charges.
“The club is glad that this issue will be looked at again by a separate panel that will be unbiased and take into account all the strong evidence that supports its position.” So, we’re looking forward to ending this issue for good.
Masters told a press gathering for the European Leagues in London on Friday that the hearing into City’s case will happen “shortly.” The CEO of the Premier League did not give a date.
He said, “The date has been set, so we can’t say anything about the case.” The case will be over soon enough.” Because City has been charged in the past, their case is much more complicated than the current ones involving Everton and Nottingham Forest.
Masters talked about the main differences in January at a select committee. “Those charges are very different. That team would be in the same situation as Everton or Nottingham Forest if they were found to have broken the spending rules for the year 23. This was true whether they were the current champions or not.
“The charges brought against Man City, which I am not allowed to talk about at all, are being heard in a completely different setting.” The hearing has been set for a certain date.
