Israel has confirmed its agreement to the US proposal for a bilateral armistice with Iran. However, it will “respond forcefully” to any violations of the truce.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier convened a meeting with the defence minister, the IDF chief of staff, the head of the Mossad, and the cabinet to inform them that Israel had successfully accomplished all of the objectives of Operation Rising Lion, in addition to many others.
The statement states that Israel has eliminated a dual imminent existential threat in the nuclear and ballistic missile sectors.
The statement asserts that the IDF “acquired complete air control over Tehran’s skies, inflicted severe damage on the military leadership, and destroyed dozens of central Iranian government targets.”
For the first time, the statement also discloses the death of an additional senior nuclear scientist.
“The IDF has dealt significant blows to regime targets in the heart of Tehran, eliminated hundreds of Basij operatives, the regime’s oppression apparatus, and assassinated another senior nuclear scientist in the past day,” the statement reads.
The statement reads, “Israel expresses its gratitude to President Trump and the United States for their assistance in defence and their involvement in the elimination of the Iranian nuclear threat.”
The PMO states that Israel has consented to the president’s proposal for a bilateral armistice in light of the operation’s successful completion and in full coordination with President Trump. It also states that Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire.
Shortly after an Iranian ballistic missile struck a residential building in Beersheba, US President Donald Trump declared that a ceasefire would be implemented. Unfortunately, at least four individuals were slain in the incident.
