Michel-Ange Balikwisha signed a five-year contract with Celtic after joining the Scottish champions from Royal Antwerp, and he will be a “important player” for the club.
Balikwisha, 24, has scored once in four matches this season and has assisted Antwerp in securing their first Belgian league title since 1957 in 2023.
After failing to score in either leg of their Champions League play-off loss to Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty, Celtic will embrace additional attacking options.
“He is a highly talented and thrilling player who has already acquired a significant amount of experience at a high level. Consequently, he will be a critical asset to us in the future,” stated manager Brendan Rodgers.
“We are confident that he will provide the team with a variety of exciting options, as he is capable of playing on both sides of the pitch and has a strong desire to attack.”
