Since 2007, only Cristiano Ronaldo and this new star have worn Portugal’s famous No. 7 shirt.

Even though Roberto Martinez named the 39-year-old star in his 32-player Euro 2024 team, he was given some time off after playing for Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo is currently on a fancy family vacation in Saudi Arabia with his family to rest and avoid getting hurt before what could be his last big tournament this summer in Germany.

In an international match at the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes, Portugal beat Sweden by a score of 5-2.

Even without their star player, Portugal still scored five goals, with Matheus Nunes of Manchester City scoring one of them.

The great winger Bruma made history in Portugal by wearing the prestigious No. 7 shirt, which has been almost entirely reserved for Cristiano Ronaldo since 2007.

When their star No. 7 forward wasn’t playing, Bruma stepped up and scored, taking the attention from the missing player.

Bruma started the game on the bench, but when boss Roberto Martinez brought him on in the second half, he made a big difference. He scored Portugal’s fourth goal with help from Bruno Fernandes.

Bruma, who has said before that he admires Ronaldo, said that he was his best inspiration and a good example for young players.

But since Ronaldo is likely to play against Slovenia, Bruma will likely wear his regular No. 17 shirt again.

Rafael Leao of AC Milan scored the first goal in the match, and Matheus Nunes, a new player for Manchester City, made it 2-0.

Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, scored and set up the new No. 7, and Goncalo Ramos of Benfica sealed the win early in the second half.

Viktor Gyokeres and Gustaf Nilsson made goals for Sweden, who were both very sought after.

After the game, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez stated that Fernandes, Dias, Silva, and Palhinha were among eight players who would be let go early and would not play against Slovenia.
