2025 has been an exciting year for the Dallas Mavericks up until this point. In addition to Kyrie Irving tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Draft Lottery, and general manager Nico Harrison made a trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers.
There is a widespread consensus that the Mavericks will select Cooper Flagg, a player from Duke University, with the first overall pick in this year’s draft. If Flagg is selected by Dallas, he will join the ranks of other players such Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, and Klay Thompson.
But what if Harrison wants to trade the first overall choice for a player who can win right away? Absolutely nothing can be ruled out. To put it another way, Harrison’s decision to trade Doncic in February caused a stir in the world of sports.
Andre Snellings of ESPN suggested that the Mavericks negotiate a deal with the Phoenix Suns in the event that Harrison is interested in trading the first selection in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Booker, who signed a four-year agreement with the Suns in 2022 that was worth $220 million, would be included in this trade scenario, which would match Davis and Irving with Booker. The upcoming season will bring in $53.1 million for Booker.
Last summer, Davis and Booker were teammates on the United States national team. The United States of America was able to capture the gold medal with the assistance of the two stars.
Booker was selected to the All-Star team four times, and he played in 75 games for the Suns this season. His field goal percentage was 46.1%, his three-point percentage was 33.2%, and his free throw percentage was 89.4%. He also had an average of 25.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists.
Booker, who is 28 years old, has averaged 24.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists over his lengthy career. Over the course of the 2016–2017 season, he achieved a score of 70 points against the Boston Celtics.
