France Football has once again announced the nominations for the Ballon d’Or Gala in 2024.

The Catalans are not in a favorable position to win any of the accolades, with the exception of the Kopa Trophy, as they were trophy-less last season. Nevertheless, this does not imply that the Blaugrana institution’s athletes were not nominated for a variety of categories.

Two Barcelona players are involved in the confrontation.

Two Barcelona players have been selected to compete for the individual award.

Both nominees were chosen predominantly based on their international success, as the club did not achieve any notable finishes or win any silverware in competitions. Consequently, they are members of the Spanish national team that won Euro 2024.

BREAKING: Olmo is also in the running for the Ballon d'Or, and Lamine Yamal has become the youngest person to ever be nominated for the award

Lamine Yamal, the team’s junior attacking phenom, is the first player to be nominated. Yamal is also included in the list of nominees for the Kopa Trophy.

Yamal is the youngest player to ever receive a Ballon d’Or nomination, despite the fact that he played for the majority of the season at the age of 16.

Dani Olmo, who arrived at Barcelona earlier this summer, is the second player to be nominated for the esteemed award. He was a crucial member of Luis de La Fuente’s squad and scored the most goals at Euro 2024.

It is important to note that Pedri, who was replaced by Olmo in the team, is not included in the nominations due to an injury that halted his campaign in Germany during the latter phases of the tournament.

Additional nominations for Barcelona
Barcelona Femeni experienced considerable delight as numerous players were nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or, in addition to the men’s nominees.

Aitana Bonmati, Caroline Graham Hansen, Patricia Guijarro, Salma Paralluelo, Alexia Putellas, Mariona Caldentey, and Ewa Pajor, in addition to erstwhile star Lucy Bronze.

Furthermore, Barça Femeni was also nominated for the Women’s Club of the Year award.

In the interim, Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal are both in contention for the 2024 Kopa Trophy.
