People have said that CRISTIANO RONALDO doesn’t know “how to play football.”
The 39-year-old just scored 900 goals for both his club and his country, making him the first player in the history of the sport to do so.
But Antonio Cassano, a former star player for Real Madrid, doesn’t think that matters much.
The shocking claim was made by Cassano, who played for Real Madrid from 2006 to 2008 and was on the Viva El Futbol show at the time.
Cassano, an Italian player with 39 caps, said, “Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football.” “I don’t care if he scores 3,000 goals.”
Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain, Robert Lewandowski, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Luis Suarez all knew how to work with the team, said Cassano, 42.
“They knew how to do a lot of things, unlike Ronaldo whose only objective has always been to score.”
It took Ronaldo 438 games to score 450 goals, while Cassano scored four goals in 28 games for Madrid.
During his time in Spain, Ronaldo scored 100 goals for Real Madrid in just 105 games, making him the fastest player to ever do that for a single club. Erling Haaland now holds the record after scoring against Arsenal on Sunday.
After that, Cassano played for AC Milan and Inter Milan, but his best years were with AS Roma from 2001 to 2006, when he was so good that Real Madrid signed him.
This is not the first time he has said something bad about the Al-Nassr ace.
Ronaldo was not liked at Manchester United in 2022, so Cassano told him to hang up his boots.
He said, “A guy like Cristiano needs to think about himself. If you can’t do it any longer, you need to quit.”
“It’s the law in all sports.” It’s time to retire!
“He has won everything, he has been a phenomenon, he has earned a lot of money and now he is not a starter at Manchester United.”
After a year without a team, Cassano retired in 2018. He had scored 139 goals in club football and 10 goals for Italy, including three goals at the European Championships.
There were two Italian Super Cups and La Liga titles he won. During his career, he played for Bari, Sampdoria, Parma, and Hellas Verona.
It was the most expensive fee ever paid for a teenager at the time—60 billion Italian lira, or about €30 million—that he was signed by Roma in 2001, when he was only 19.
