Brendan Rodgers issued a harsh statement over the VAR call of ruling out the Daizen Maeda goal during their 6-00 win match against St. Johnstone

Brendan Rodgers thinks Celtic should have scored a seventh goal after seeing his team beat St. Johnstone 6-0 on Saturday night.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Paulo Bernardo, Daizen Maeda, Callum McGregor, and Adam Idah all worked together to beat the home team badly in Perth.

Even though Maeda played great for the whole 90 minutes, and Rodgers praised him in a radio talk after the game, the Japanese international could have had an even better night.

A very good volley from the left would have been the first goal, but it was called off after a VAR review for what looked like an Auston Trusty foul on Graham Carey before the goal.

Even though replays showed that Carey and Trusty hit each other, many Celtic fans believe that Trusty did not foul the St. Johnstone player. Rodgers agrees with them.

Brendan Rodgers issued a harsh statement over the VAR call of ruling out the Daizen Maeda goal during their 6-00 win match against St. Johnstone.
The boss told the press after the game, “It should never have been called off.” That player steps into Austin’s space and bumps him, as you can see if you watch it again. It’s clear that Carey is hurt when he goes over.

“Daizen comes up with a great goal that was called off.” That’s why I didn’t think it should have been banned.

It will be interesting to see what Head of Refereeing Willie Collum has to say about what happened on the new VAR review show for the Scottish FA.

We’ll also find out next week what a five-person group thinks of it all when the governing body posts its review online as part of a new way to communicate.

Not only was that a shocking VAR decision on Saturday, but fans and experts also didn’t like the decisions made in the game between Motherwell and St. Mirren. There is still a lot of work to be done on how people in Scotland use technology.

Rodgers takes the chance to respond to criticism of Celtic that has been made.
There was also some negative feedback about Celtic’s first season, which the manager poked fun at. He used the chance to tell everyone that he’s done a great job with this group of players.

“It’s not bad for a team that doesn’t play good football,” he said about the Bhoys’ great game in Perth. Could it be that we were told that last year?

“I believe that was the charge.” We moved too slowly, didn’t play football, and didn’t score enough goals. So it’s not bad for a sports team that isn’t playing well.

Rodgers likes to poke fun at people every once in a while, and after seeing his team play so well, he deserves it. It will no doubt make the columnists and experts even angrier, since they were quick to criticize Celtic while the manager got back to work.
