Brendan Rodgers’ team has reached an agreement on a contract with a player who was “very close” to departing Celtic. A medical is currently underway.
Four days ago, we reported on allegations from Spain that Rayo Vallecano had achieved an agreement with Celtic’s Luis Palma and were in the process of finalising a deal with Brendan Rodgers’ team. According to a recent rumour from Estadio Deportivo, the winger’s transfer to the La Liga team has reached the “final phase.”
On Sunday, a new development occurred that brings the Celtic player “very close” to Rayo Vallecano in the winter market. Celtic and the Spanish club have “already closed the agreement” for the 24-year-old’s loan transfer. The two clubs are currently in the process of finalising the operation’s final details.
At the conclusion of this season, Estadio state Rayo Vallecano will also have the option to acquire the Honduras international for €2.5m. They also mention that Palma will be travelling to Spain this week to complete the transfer formalities, including medical testing with the Spanish club.
Brendan Rodgers has restricted Palma to only one league start at Celtic this season. Consequently, the attacker is in the process of securing a transfer to Rayo Vallecano in January and is eager to depart Celtic Park.
