After Newcastle United’s “night to forget,” Bruno Guimaraes issued an 18-word injury message.
West Ham UnitedBruno Guimaraes acknowledged that Newcastle United’s defeat to West Ham United was a “night to forget” after he was forced to leave the game with an injury.
Newcastle suffered their third defeat at St James’ Park in 2024, but Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka assisted The Hammers in their victory on Tyneside on Monday evening. Newcastle’s loss by two goals was their first at home since December of last year.
Additionally, they suffered two injuries during the match.Joe Willock was substituted at halftime due to a leg injury, while Guimaraes was substituted in the final phases due to a gluteal issue.
Following the match, Newcastle’s head coach, Eddie Howe, disclosed that both players sustained injuries and would undergo evaluations prior to their visit to Crystal Palace on Saturday at 3 p.m. kickoff.
Guimaraes subsequently responded to his injury and the outcome at St James’ Park on social media. Kieran Trippier succeeded Guimaraes in the latter phases of the match.
The Newcastle right-back made his return from a hamstring injury after seven weeks, while Callum Wilson made his first appearance since May by coming off the bench in the second half.
Trippier expressed his disappointment with the outcome of the game on Instagram, but he stated, “We will play again on Saturday.”
“It is a pleasure to be back in the field.” Although Willock and Guimaraes are currently uncertain for Palace, Newcastle will benefit from the return of Dan Burn, who was suspended for the West Ham match.
