Bruno Guimaraes asserts a significant statement on Newcastle United’s future following their 4-0 victory.
Bruno Guimaraes feels that Newcastle United may still achieve significant accomplishments together after their 4-0 victory against Leicester City on Saturday.
Guimaraes netted his inaugural goal of the season, extending Newcastle’s advantage at St James’ Park following Jacob Murphy’s opening strike for the hosts. Alexander Isak and a second goal from Murphy enabled The Magpies to secure a decisive victory.
Following a humiliating loss to Brentford in the Premier League, the Newcastle captain was gratified to witness the team rise to the occasion and recover against The Foxes.
“I believe we elevated our performance in this match,” Guimaraes stated to Match of the Day. “It was a significant victory.” The team performed admirably, particularly in the second half.
In the Carabao Cup quarter-final, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m., Newcastle has the opportunity to exact revenge on Brentford.
The team enters the match having scored seven goals in their last two matches at St James’ Park, culminating in a 3-3 draw with Liverpool the previous week.
Guimaraes is optimistic about Newcastle’s future, despite the team’s rocky start to the season.”Our message in the changing room during half-time was to score the second goal as quickly as possible to boost our confidence. I believe we deserved to win the game and performed significantly better than Brentford,” Guimaraes continued.
“We must demonstrate our capabilities in all games, not just those against the major six.” Today served as substantial evidence that this team is capable of accomplishing significant feats in tandem.
