Bukayo Saka responds to Arsenal’s announcement of its departure and the confirmation of a “new adventure.”

Belatedly, Barry Solan has disclosed that he resigned from his position at Arsenal at the conclusion of the preseason this summer.

Prior to his departure, Solan, 44, served as the primary strength and conditioning coach for the club’s first team.

He became one of the club’s most tenured employees in the summer of 2015 upon his arrival in north London.

Solan, a performance specialist for the Poland national team at Euro 2012, was offered an opportunity by Arsene Wenger and the club’s long-time director of performance, Shad Forsythe.

The Irishman was also involved in Gaelic football and coaching boxer Katie Taylor, who won Olympic gold at London 2012 and is currently the undisputed and lineal world lightweight champion.

Solan shared a team photo on Instagram, featuring dozens of players and personnel, with the caption “This gang,” punctuated with a red heart emoji, to announce the news.

The caption continued, “Arsenal is fortunate to have a plethora of exceptional individuals, as people are the foundation of a community.”

“I am extremely grateful to Shad [Forsythe] and Arsene [Wenger] for the opportunity, as well as to Unai [Emery], Freddie [Ljungberg], and Mikel [Arteta] and his team in the recent past.”

I am exceedingly fortunate to have collaborated with and acquired knowledge from some of the most exceptional performance personnel, coaches, and players in the industry.
